Not enough padding, though they were strong. But then the elastic velcro ripped off in a single use. Although the seller offered a refund it was too late to send them back as they have been used. For a couple of quid more, you get much better quality ones on Amazon.

This was the response from the seller –

“These are recreational children’s pads and are designed to protect the joints on bumps and falls but are not professional protection gear. For the price, they cannot be expected to perform to the same standard and are really just meant for younger children to avoid grazes and scrapes.”

I ordered for my son who is using a skateboard and scooter at the local skatepark now and doing tricks. I ordered large as he is 11 but he is quite small for his age, clothes sizing at a year or two behind his age. A few minutes after ordering them I realised that his twin brother would also need them for roller blading and so I placed another order for exactly the same, although he is taller than his twin brother and heavier set, but wears age 11-12 clothes.

The first order arrived today and I helped the smaller twin get them on and they fitted fine on him. Remember he wears aged 10 clothes usually but is aged 11. His twin brother then tried them on, and although the elbow pads were fine, the knee pads were at their maximum stretch on the elastics which go around above the knee cap. As I said he wears age 11-12 clothing and in the product description, it says suitable up to 12 so I thought he would be able to use these but definitely isn’t, so I’m now going to have to return the second order which is annoying.

Please make sure you consider going for another product, if you are buying for a child who is in aged 11-12 clothing as I think the knee pads are probably only suitable for 10-11 year old.

These are the first time that I have bought anything like this so I don’t really have anything to compare them to but I’m not hugely impressed by these. They’re fiddly to get on and the wrist ones especially aren’t that big and if my kids aged eight have a jumper on these will not do up over the jumper. The elbow ones seem to work better.

I got my daughter matching inline skates and I feel so much better knowing she has these for extra protection, she’s a total beginner and has had lots of fallls with no bruises or injuries.
She also wears the wrist support when she’s playing superheros 🤣 so for her they’re multi purpose.

Our daughter took a hard tumble on her scooter and wanted some knee pads before she would ride again. Of course they had to be pink. These fit relatively ok but as like most protection pads we have owned, the knee pads can be slightly uncomfortable, particularly for a skinny child.

I bought these pads for my 5 year old daughter in size M and I couldn’t be happier. In my opinion they are perfect for younger children. Maybe if you are looking for some “professional” pads, these are not yours but to avoid damage caused by falls in small children they are perfect. I would not recommend them for children older than 8-9 years since they need more specific protections but for young children, beginners in rollerblading or cycling they are absolutely fine, more than enough. Quite sturdy and well made. They protect the joints very well. My daughter has already used them several times and they have been perfect for her. I have taken a photo so that you can see how they are on the inside and outside.

My (large for his age!) 3yo has been using these when learning to ride his bike. They’re taken dozens of hits now on gravel and tarmac and have been put on and off 50 times or more without much care. After all that abuse they’ve held up well. (We haven’t used the wrist protectors – just the knee and elbow pads.)

Very flimsy so it’s hard to see that they offer much protection. Worse than that, they’re badly designed so they’re uncomfortable- my daughter refused to wear the elbow guards, they’re hardly curved so it’s like strapping a plate to your elbow. The knee pads were a bit better, but with elastic straps but no “sleeves” (which other pads have) they weren’t that comfortable for long as the straps rubbed on her skin. The wrist guard was ok, more what I expected for the price.

I didn’t expect fantastic quality for this price but I was very disappointed, they were really bad value for money, and as they were so uncomfortable they were hardly worn so the money was just wasted. I’m surprised at the positive reviews. It’s not just a case of my daughter being fussy, I was disappointed with the quality before she even tried them on. The SFR set is only a bit more money and much better quality and value – my daughter had a couple of skateboarding lessons, and her teacher commented on how much better the SFR pads were than the Osprey ones.
